Spring is here, and that means birthday season in our house. Well, not necessarily IN our house…all five of us celebrate our birthdays between late August and mid November. It makes for a fun fall with the holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) mixed in!
We celebrate the birthdays of my mother-in-law, my mother, my father-in-law, and my niece…along with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day…in April, May, and June.
While it is fun to shop for presents, sometimes gift-giving is made easier by giving a gift card to a favorite store or restaurant. Gift cards are hugely popular these days, but there aren’t a lot of creative ways to wrap them. The presentation of a gift card can be made more special by doing more than just placing it in an envelope.
Imagine surprising someone with this special package! So easy to create with these basic supplies…brown paper craft bags and various colors of washi tape.
Now it’s time to be creative! There are so many possibilities…
…flowers
…candles
…apples and hearts
…presents and banners
Simply cut the tape into the shape or design you want and adhere it to the bag. Add a little twine or sticky letters for accents. Make it colorful, fun, and festive!
Place a gift certificate or card inside the envelope, and you are ready to surprise someone special!

Well, first time I’ve even heard of washi tape! I’ve got some in my Amazon cart already!
